Kelly has been a seamstress for over thirty years. She has always had a love of creating whimsical clothes which grew when she was raising her three children. Recently leaving corporate life, Kelly focused on her passion for textiles, fibre and decided to establish KellyWerks.

Kelly saw a need to produce sustainable products after reading and understanding the unethical human and damaging environmental impacts that throwaway fashion produces. 'The Sustainable Sewist' strategy was born, joining her love of textiles and fibre by creatively reusing high-quality sweaters to keep them in our lives and out of landfills. Kelly upcycles pure wool and cashmere sweaters to produce handmade one of a kind jackets adding needle felted embellishments with end products that are better and longer-lasting than the original garment they came from. The sweaters are used to their fullest as the dolls are made from the scraps leftover from the jackets.   Do you have a favourite sweater that no longer fits?  Kelly also makes custom made dolls that look like the customers who owned the sweater from which it is made.  

The goal of KellyWerks is to produce eco-friendly, ethical and high-quality products that are fun and unique and to ensure they bring meaning and value to everyday life and are sustainably made to be handed down through the generations.
